Hate the pressure of a new year, especially when the world feels so hard right now? Me too.

new years can bring a lot of shoulds. and while i love a transitional period, even the most well-intentioned folks can fall into the trap of “new year, new me,” making promises and resolutions and vows, naming lofty goals, setting intentions for what we hope to accomplish.

to be clear, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being ambitious, with wanting more, with naming our desires! and there's certainly nothing wrong with wanting to find ways to feel empowered, when so many systems seem to take our power away. but rather than letting capitalism, fear, or self-consciousness be the driving force behind our goals, we can use the tarot to do more: to tap into authenticity, to find our power, to acknowledge our truest and realest dreams.

to make the new year less about how others see us, and more about how we see ourselves.

to recognize the cycles that we are already in, the ones that are concluding, and the ones we hope to begin.

to identify who we truly are, so that we can clarify, name, and work towards who we want to be.

the world is hard enough without feeling isolated in our goals, without putting even more pressure on ourselves to succeed individually, without trying to be whoever others want us to be.

who do you want to be in 2024? what do you want to accomplish? how do you want to channel your power, your focus, your magic? and what ripple effects might activating all of that magic now have for your future?

2024 is an eight year (2024 // 2+0+2+4 = 8), meaning that it aligns with the strength archetype as well as the star archetype. together, these cards have so much to teach us about what we believe in, how we devote ourselves to the things we care about, and the values that we are willing to fight for. with the tarot by our side, we can figure out what power actually means for us as individuals, and use those truths to plug more fully into our communities and the broader collective.

strength & starlight is a five-session tarot journaling course, designed to support your personal transition from 2023 to 2024 — or for new years and big transitions in the future. with brand new tarot spreads and gentle, seeking prompts, this series will create space for you to reflect and clarify, tap into the power of the number eight, understand your own personal archetypes and themes for the year, and begin to define for yourself what power and magic really look like.

designed for tarot readers at all levels, strength & starlight is for anyone who is seeking a more holistic, personal, gentle and thoughtful entry point into the new year.
